FAQ
How often should you look away from a screen?
The most common public guidance for a timed look-away is every 20 minutes, for about 20 seconds, at roughly 20 feet. That is the 20-20-20 rule.
Is 20 minutes required?
It is a starting cadence, not a law. Some people keep it. Others find every 20 minutes too frequent and miss every reminder — in that case a longer interval you will actually take can be more useful. Eye Rest’s free mode stays on 20 minutes; Pro can move between 10 and 60.
What “look away” means
Change focus distance. Checking another screen in your hand is not the same as looking at a far wall or a window.
How to remember
Do not rely on memory after lunch. Use a 20-20-20 reminder on the phone that already sits on the desk. Eye Rest is built for that.
