Privacy policy
Last updated: 7 September 2026. This policy describes the Android app Eye Rest (package tq.tech.eyerest), published by TQ Tech.
Eye Rest is a local-first 20-20-20 reminder. It does not require an account. Some data still leaves the device: analytics, crash reports, and purchase checks.
What stays on the device
Work hours and active days, break interval and duration, pause and reminder timestamps, theme and notification preferences, and break history used for weekly stats and streak. These use Android DataStore and Room. If you have Android backup enabled, they can be included in device backup.
What we do not do
- No account creation or sign-in
- No advertising SDK and no ads in the app
- No selling of personal data
- Advertising ID collection is disabled in the app manifest
App interactions (Firebase Analytics)
The app enables Google Firebase Analytics when it starts. It logs screens and events such as onboarding steps, notification actions, and purchase-related events. These are used to understand whether the reminder flow works. They can include app instance identifiers that Google associates with the installation. We do not ask you to type your name or email into analytics.
Crash logs (Firebase Crashlytics)
Firebase Crashlytics is enabled at startup. Stack traces, device and app version, and similar diagnostics are sent to Google so we can fix crashes. Custom keys may include whether onboarding finished, theme, reminder enabled, and Pro status — not your email address.
Purchases (Google Play and RevenueCat)
If you buy Eye Rest Pro — Lifetime, Google Play processes payment. RevenueCat checks the pro entitlement so the unlock can restore on the same Play account. That requires network access and Play / RevenueCat identifiers. The app does not receive your full payment card details.
Notifications
Reminder notifications are created on the device. Notification permission is optional. Denying it does not block the rest of the app.
Internet permission
INTERNET is used for Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, RevenueCat, Google Play Billing, in-app review, and Play in-app updates. The 20-20-20 reminder engine can still schedule locally after install.
Widgets and alarms
Home-screen widgets read local reminder state. Exact alarms, when allowed, are used only to time breaks.
Children
Eye Rest is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Your choices
You can uninstall the app to remove local data on that device (backups may persist until you delete them in Android). You can revoke notification permission in system settings. You can use Play’s purchase tools for Lifetime Pro. Google also provides controls for some Analytics / Crashlytics data through your Google account, where applicable.
